Dr. Pallavi Limaye Receives UConn Hartford Fellow Award

The University of Connecticut Department of Molecular and Cell Biology is delighted to announce that Dr. Pallavi Limaye has been selected as the inaugural UConn Hartford Teaching & Learning Equity Faculty Leadership Fellow to start in Spring 2024.

This annual fellowship was created by UConn Hartford to contribute to the campus’ commitment to teaching excellence and the advancement of an anti-racist, equity-based, and inclusive learning environment and supports efforts to build a pipeline of emerging leaders as part of the Provost’s Faculty and Leadership Development Program. This fellowship opportunity advances institutional teaching and learning goals while supporting faculty readiness for future leadership opportunities through building a portfolio of curricular and pedagogical activities.

Dr. Pallavi Limaye has demonstrated the competencies and commitment to anti-racist and equity-based teaching in her biology courses. She has worked tirelessly for the past two years on transforming equity outcomes for the BIOL1107 course at the Hartford campus. Last October, she had the opportunity to co-present some of her work at the Fall 2023 Equity in Action event co-hosted by CETL, UConn Hartford, and HHMI Grant, where Dr. Limaye co-presented curricular and pedagogical changes in her courses for the past academic year. Through her drive and passion for inclusion and equity in STEM, she has also mentored other faculty members in STEM on campus to enhance their course curriculum and pedagogy.
